Now once you understand the concepts and distinctions between LEADs and ACCOUNT, there are core Salesforce.com concepts that center around the Account that you will want to understand:
In an Account you may have multiple interactions with the client:
- Contacts. These are the people at an Account that may have different business focuses, functions and roles relative to a buying decision
- Opportunities- These are the sales engagements or deals you have with an Account
- Cases- these are trouble tickets and represent your opportunity to respond to customer needs, on boarding, inquires, repairs or maybe their held desk.
Once you understand these concepts and the data (information in fields in the records) you will understand how these can help you to manage your most important interactions with customers.
